As a founder of SteegeThomson, Carol built a firm to serve nonprofit clients with strategic thinking and strong execution.
She has created teams that connect clients to their audiences across visual and verbal media on constantly changing platforms. Her own ability to think clearly, plan realistically, and shape crisp messages has served many institutional leaders and, on occasion, helped them avert a crisis. She has provided counsel for major fundraising and marketing campaigns. Her strong editorial skills are the foundation of SteegeThomson’s signature strengths in developing content.
Over the years, Carol has led engagements with Annie E. Casey Foundation, Central European University, Harvard University Graduate School of Education, National Board of Medical Examiners, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Mercersburg Academy, Thomas Jefferson University, and University of Pennsylvania, among many others.
Before joining the late Michele Steege to form SteegeThomson, Carol was director of communications at Public/Private Ventures, a national policy research firm, and a senior development writer at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her A.B. cum laude and her Master of Arts degree in teaching from Brown University.
