Rebranding a Philanthropic Leader

Philadelphia City Fund

The Mayor’s Fund for Philadelphia has long been the force behind many of the City’s most exciting and important initiatives, from the Better Bike Share Partnership, bringing access to low-income neighborhoods; to PHLConnectED, linking students to the internet during the pandemic; to the Welcoming Fund, serving new immigrants with basic needs.

So when the Fund sought to communicate its evolution and capabilities as an independent non-profit, we were honored to be its partner in rebranding the organization as the Philadelphia City Fund.  We developed core messages and created a visual identity that combined the brick hues of historic Philadelphia with fresh typography — ideal for an organization that brings high-impact civic projects to fruition. We also helped the PCF team reimagine its website from top to bottom, provided a comprehensive communications plan, and conducted media relations for the brand launch, which created a perfect opportunity to explain the Fund’s vision and impact to reporters, City departments, and the public.
