The Foundation for Delaware County
It takes a village.
For more than 30 years, the Foundation for Delaware County’s home-visiting programs—nurses, case managers, doulas, plus housing, legal, and mental-health support—have formed a lifeline for families in communities facing high infant-mortality rates and limited resources. To raise visibility among a growing, diverse population and clearly differentiate this work from the Foundation’s broader philanthropy, we created a fresh, distinct brand and communications strategy for Delco’s public health programs.

building trust first
Seeking help is a leap of faith, especially for families facing economic, transportation, language, and cultural barriers. Our first priority: demonstrate that Family Village is a place where all people will be understood, respected, and supported.
Our messaging highlights what makes the program unique: many staff once received these services themselves and now serve the same neighborhoods where they grew up. We paired a bright, welcoming visual identity with simple, friendly language designed to put families at ease. The inclusive name Family Village avoids stigma and signals that services extend to the whole family.
making the case to donors
Fundraising materials help the Foundation articulate the programs’ impact to individual and institutional funders, and a new website brings the story—and the crucial services—to life.
“Family Village is based on the understanding that it takes a village—a community of support—to successfully raise a child, and we have the expertise and commitment to be that village for our families.”
