As communications consultants for the Smithsonian’s first-ever comprehensive capital campaign, which surpassed a $1.5 billion goal, SteegeThomson developed overall strategy and messaging to reach long-term friends as well as new donors at every level of giving. We also created specific tools ranging from multimedia presentations to traditional case statements.
Our campaign work built on more than a decade of executive communications that included recasting and producing the Smithsonian annual report — changing it from an encyclopedic, equally weighted account to a vibrant, visual, and well-messaged look at the year, emphasizing those achievements that best served the American people. We also articulated the Secretary’s vision to all Smithsonian stakeholders through a series of communications that framed the future and outlined the immense contributions the Smithsonian would make to art, history, culture, and science around the world.
