If you or a loved one has ever been treated for cancer, chances are that the oncologist used guidelines developed by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a consortium of 27 of the nation’s top cancer centers. NCCN is well-known in oncology circles. But outside of them? Not so much. So we introduced NCCN to the national consumer health care media to broaden its reach.
Our multi-platform media strategy has built new relationships for NCCN, and included NCCN’s first-ever online newsroom, giving newly interested journalists a place to find subject-matter experts and highlights from NCCN policy summits. We promoted NCCN’s voice through a livestreamed news conference and an interactive, CEO-hosted webinar on patient values and the NCCN Evidence Blocks™ tool to the Association of Health Care Journalists. The result? Informed journalists and a higher profile for NCCN in the patient value discussion.
